New North Melbourne recruit Luke Parker has revealed what he believes is the key to success at Arden Street in 2025.

After floundering at the bottom of the table this season, the Roos opted to bring in a plethora of premiership experience from rival clubs, headlined by Parker's arrival from Sydney.

And with five grand finals under his belt, the 32-year-old feels he knows exactly what the group requires to get to the next level.

"I think the biggest thing for these boys is belief," Parker said on Monday.

"They've got a core group of leaders who drive really high standards but because there's not the wins on the board, there's probably that little bit of doubt."

The midfielder has left it up to himself, alongside Bulldogs recruit Caleb Daniel and veteran ex Eagles forward Jack Darling, to drive the group to new heights.

"I think almost reassuring them that we're heading in the right direction, doing the right things and keep driving those standards," he said.

And Parker isn't intimidated by the lack of winning or finals experience on one of the youngest lists in the league.

"I look at the team sheet and it looks as good as any other team in my eyes," he said.

"I'm excited to build that belief and build relationships and work alongside them."

As for who stood out on day one of pre season at Arden Street, Parker admitted it was hard to go past a fan favourite.

"George Wardlaw coming through, he looks like he's got a screw loose so that'll be exciting to see him put his body on the line," he said.

"I love the way that he goes about it."

"Jy Simpkin, he's just a workhorse.

"Even out at training today, he's an absolute specimen."
