She studied journalism at RMIT before working as a video journalist in Shepparton.
She worked in radio before joining 9News Gold Coast where she covered the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
In 2019 Penelope moved to London and worked as producer for Sky News and Good Morning Britain.
She later moved to Budapest with Feature Story News, covering European politics and other breaking events in Eastern and Central Europe, including the Polish migrant crisis.
Back home she covered 2022 Victorian floods disaster as it hit north-east Victoria. In 2023 she took over the court round for 9News Melbourne.
