Brett Mcleod is an award-winning journalist and news presenter who has spent decades covering some of the biggest stories in Australia and the world.

Brett joined Nine in 2000. He has twice been the network's Europe Correspondent. He has reported from war zones including Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Israel/Gaza, and was live on air as civilians were killed in Bangkok's 2010 Red Shirt protests. Brett was one of the first journalists into Aceh after the devastating Boxing Day tsunami. He was also on the ground in Kinglake during Victoria's Black Saturday fires.

Other major stories he has covered include the death of Queen Elizabeth, the coronation of Charles and Camilla, the coronation of Mary and Frederick in Denmark, and he reported from Buckingham Palace and Saddam Hussein's Republican Palace in the same month.

Brett's first job was at radio 3AW, where he later became Drive host and News Director.

Born in Melbourne, he studied media at RMIT where he is now an Adjunct Professor in Journalism.
