Influencer dies at 38 after cosmetic surgery in Moscow

A Russian influencer living in Italy has died at the age of 38 after having cosmetic surgery.

Yulia Burtseva, who was based in Naples with her husband, per her Instagram bio, died after having surgery at a private clinic in Moscow, according to Russian news outlet MSK1.

She reportedly had "medical and cosmetic procedures" on Sunday, but the Moscow Investigative Committee later confirmed her death.

A criminal case has also reportedly been opened.

It's been reported by another outlet that Burtseva was allegedly undergoing buttock augmentation surgery and went into anaphylactic shock.

The influencer and mother boasted more than 74,000 influencers on Instagram and regularly spoke about her family life and marriage to her Italian husband.

Her public Instagram profile was flooded with comments reacting to the shock news of her death.

"What a nightmare... I didn't even believe it at first... what just happened????" one person wrote.

Another added: "Deepest condolences to her family. Rest peacefully."

Another called the death "terrible news".

Burtseva previously touched on her marriage with her followers, saying in one post, that they do have differences but they work things out.

"Giuseppe and I have been together for four years," she wrote in a candid post back in 2023.

"Our relationship is built solely on love. There are no benefits for either side.

"I could say we're going through a difficult time now, but that wouldn't be entirely accurate. I'd say we haven't fully adjusted to each other yet."

"We try very hard to understand each other; I sometimes even tell myself, 'Yulia, I think like an Italian.' It helps!

"Meanwhile, he's reading online about the Russian mentality, our values, and our way of life.

"No, we certainly don't have a perfect relationship. We have our differences from time to time, I'd even say with enviable regularity. But maybe that's how it's supposed to be? What do you think?"
