Teen calls out school's hypocrisy over 'inappropriate' yearbook photo

Eleanor Fitzwilliams was stunned when her high school rejected her yearbook photo for being “inappropriate”.
 
A staff member told the graduating student she needed to submit a replacement because the side of her bralette was visible in her original portrait.
 
“I was like, wait, what just happened? Was that really too inappropriate?” Fitzwilliams tells TODAY.

“I started talking to my friends and soon I realised that was not okay.”

Venting her frustrations on Twitter, Fitzwilliams seized the opportunity to highlight the hypocrisy of the school’s stance on yearbook photos.
 
She juxtaposed her original photo, which had been taken by her father, against one of her school’s all-boys swimming team that had appeared in the previous yearbook.

“They show way more skin and get their pic seen a lot more,” she tweeted.
