A woman has been praised for the way she confronted a man in a bar who repeatedly touched her — and attempted to convince her it was an "accident".

In a video shared to TikTok, the US woman, Calla, is filmed sitting with her friend when a stranger approaches them, striking up a conversation.

As the man shifts his attention towards her friend, he continuously touches Calla, leaning his elbow on her seat rest and grazing along her back.

Calla shoots him concerned looks and recoils each time he presses against her.

The man's arm brushes her back before he shouts mockingly, "Oh s--t! I touched her again!"

When Calla confronts him for the first time, he insists he's speaking with her friend and not to her.

"You're talking to her about me," Calla responds, launching into a takedown of his poor behaviour.

"For the last f---ng 30 years of my life [men] don't know how to keep space," she adds.

"They touch you inappropriately, they talk to you inappropriately, and they're in your motherf---ing space inappropriately."

The man stands, appearing uncomfortable after Calla's rebuke.

The video, which has been viewed over 1.1 million times, was shared by the woman's friend Haley McQuinn, alongside the caption, "Watch my friend tell this guy off because he kept touching her."

Another claimed they were "triggered" by the common display of behaviour, and likened the man's response to "gaslighting."

"They try to make you feel like you're overreacting for normally reacting to their disrespect," they explained.

One questioned why the man was "acting like the victim" for being called out.

"I just know someone out there thinks she's dramatic. It's called respecting personal space and education," shared another supporter.

Calla shared a response to her friend's original video, calling the man's behaviour "so obtuse."

"Obviously can't read facial expressions or body language."

One TikTok user claimed they would adopt her approach next time they found themselves in a similar situation.

"Channeling your energy the next time this happens," they wrote.
