Woman meets baby she helped save by shielding pregnant stranger during Las Vegas massacre

Sue Ann Cornwell and Miriam Lujan are two strangers, who until recently didn't even know each other's names...but they are bonded by a life changing experience.

Both attended the Route 91 Country Music Festival in Las Vegas on October 1 last year, when a gunman opened fire from a hotel across the road.

Lujan, was seven months pregnant at the time and had made her way closer to the stage and away from her friends when performer Jason Aldean came out onto the stage, which meant she was standing behind Cornwell and her sister, Billie Jo LaCount, when the shooting began.

Speaking to the publication, they recounted the moments that fateful night that have bonded them for life.

"I don’t want my baby to die," Lujan had said.

Eventually they ran for help and parted ways, not knowing each others names.

She gave birth to little Xander one week early, on November 26, who weighed in at a healthy 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

In the four months that followed, Lujan never gave up on looking for the two women who helped her and her baby survive.

"When you meet people like that, you kind of just keep thinking about them," she said.

LaCount was back in her hometown of Wisconsin and unable to be a part of the reunion.
