Investigators say Pressley, who had a key to the house, was shot at as she walked through the front door when her father, who has not been identified, believed he was being broken in to.
“I just heard two gun shots,” Neighbour Regina Harvey told WYFF4.
“I went out on the porch and I seen [sic] police everywhere, everywhere.
“That’s just a sad feeling.”
Members of the local church told WYFF that they are there for the family if needed.
“We’ll do whatever we can, so don’t hesitate,” said Melvin Grover from St. Luke Holiness church.
"Let us know because we are more than willing to help.
“It's a sad day today, and it's a tragic moment that happened in the neighbourhood, and we are so heartbroken about it.”
The shooting remains under investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff’s office and the Greenville County Coroner.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
