Woman allegedly shoots husband in head over Google search

A US woman was arrested earlier this week after allegedly shooting her husband in the head over a Google search.

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office wrote on social media that deputies responding to a call on Monday discovered 58-year-old Tony Brown “on the floor lying in a pool of blood”.

Brown had a gunshot wound in the back of his head and was airlifted to a Jacksonville hospital.

Police said they discovered a revolver in an upstairs bedroom of the Florida home. After interviewing Brown’s 57-year-old wife, Lawanda Brown, they arrested her for attempted murder.

The couple worked together from the loft of their home for a shared consulting business, according to the NCSO.

Lawanda told police that her husband had asked her to do a Google search for a project template.

“While searching for the template, the suspect said she could hear a tone in her husband’s voice that said he was not happy with how she was searching,” the NCSO report stated.

Tony allegedly began to walk out of the loft before he was shot – but Lawanda told police it “was all a blur” from this point onwards.

According to local network WPTV, Lawanda was being held at Nassau County Jail as of Wednesday, with bail set at US$500,000 (AUD$660,000).

Tony is reportedly still in hospital with critical injuries.
