Which room Aussies eat family meals in
It seems Aussie families are drifting away from the dining room as the main area in which they eat family meals, with the TV room proving to be a significant draw.
We recently asked Nine.com.au readers: "Where do you usually eat your family meals?" Though 47 of those who responded are still choosing the dining room, the TV room was close behind at 43 percent with family members sitting at a couch, sofa or chair.

In their defense, we are a multi-tasking society so eating dinner while watching our favourite TV shows is understandable, particularly during what has been a difficult year thanks to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns and periods of isolation.

19 percent of families are eating family meals in the kitchen but most likely they have kitchens with seating areas included in the kitchens of most modern homes.
