UK mum loses weight during final trimester of pregnancy
A UK mum has shared the diet and exercise changes that saw her lose weight during the last trimester of her pregnancy and in the months afterwards.
Emily Clark initially embarked on a healthier lifestyle following the birth of her first child, now four, but had trouble making her new habits stick while adapting to life as a new mum.
“I was so busy and I was just focusing on that. I was working 14-hour shifts and eating the wrong foods,” the mum from Eccleshill, West Yorkshire tells SWNS.
“I struggled with discipline and sticking to a regime.”
That changed when the community resource worker fell pregnant with her second child and doctors warned her weight could pose serious threats to her prenatal health.

She was confident it would be safe to join the group while pregnant, as it was approved by midwives and included other expectant mums.
Joining the group saw Clark dramatically change her eating habits, switching out sweet snacks in favour of foods providing slow energy release.
"Lots of people think you cannot diet during pregnancy, but it's not a diet to me," she explains.
In the last trimester of her pregnancy, she lost roughly three kilograms, followed by a further 43kg after her son Finley was born.
Clark describes her results as “out of this world” and says she feels like a new person.
