Bride's request for graphic designer pal to make invitations ends their friendship: 'This was not made with love'

An aspiring graphic designer has been blasted online after her failed attempts at making invitations for a bride-to-be ended their friendship.

The bride had asked her friend, who was studying graphic design, to make the invites as a way to save some cash for her wedding.

But the endeavour to keep her budget down backfired after she saw the final result of the homemade RSVPs.

Photos of the invitations were posted onto the popular Reddit thread 'That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming'.

"Bride asked a friend of hers who was studying graphic design, to design her invites. This looks like Times New Roman on a snowflake background!" the post read.

"Bride's mom (who is not good with computers) ended up designing MUCH BETTER invites on some wedding website herself."

The original poster did not clarify what the bride wanted for her invites, but it appears she was less than impressed with the unsophisticated job.

Photos of the simple invites showed a snowflake background and Microsoft Word typeface on very flimsy paper.

In the comment, the friend of the bride said she is no longer friends with the graphic designer after she snubbed the invitations. 

She paid her for the samples but then didn't ask her to continue with the job.

"When my friend saw these 'samples' and decided to politely tell her she didn't need her services anymore, the 'friend' wrote a bitchy Facebook status about 'needing a beer because of certain people wasting her time," the comment read.

"They weren't friends after this, and a bitchy status she wrote about the bride when she turned down her design."

And it seems the wedding-shamers of Reddit sided with the bride on this predicament.

"I made our wedding invitations in Microsoft Word and they looked better than that (no graphic design background)," one former bride wrote.

"I think the person is just horrible at their choice of career and have no creativity. Graphic design is a form of art. It takes thinking and imagination," another added.

A third commented: "This was not made with love."

Meanwhile, some people claimed the graphic designer friend might have done a poor job on purpose.

"Was this a wedding gift or was friend being compensated for her time? If so, it's a bit awful," one person mused.

"If zero effort from bride to recompense her friend happened, then she got the invitations she deserved."
