'Mum pressured me to get my wedding cake made by her friend - and it's not good'
A bride-to-be who is in the process of organising her wedding has shared the result of a recent cake trial, and it isn't great.
It turns out the creation is the work of a friend of the woman's mother.
"My mum pressured me to get my cake made by her friend, who is apparently a professional baker," she shares on Reddit.
"They just sent me this photo of the trial. Suffice to say it's not what I ordered."
The bride-to-be is less than impressed with the result of the trial. Reddit
It appears as though the baker has attempted to create a 'naked cake', as per current trends.
These cakes feature minimal icing and are usually finished with flowers.

It isn't known if the bride-to-be paid for the wedding cake trial.
"What in fresh baking hell is this! Thank god you got the trial so that you didn't get 3 tiers of whatever this is on your wedding day," one commenter posted in response.
"What did your mum say when she saw this?"
The bride-to-be responds to this question, explaining her mother thought it was "fine."
"The worst thing is my mum thinks this is fine, she just says we'll chuck some flowers on it and it'll look great," she explained.
Another person commented: "This appears to be boxed cake with some warm cool whip thinly slathered on. I created a similar masterpiece for Mother's Day 1996 when I was 9."

"My guess would be that this was supposed to be a two-tier semi-naked cake. But whatever it was supposed to be, it's… not good," another said.
Another commented: "It's not quite a naked cake, and it's not quite an iced cake. What kind of hybrid monstrosity is this?!? Run, don't walk, to your nearest bakery and order a wedding cake because this…this ain't it."
The bride confirms her mother admitted her friend "isn't really a professional" and the cake she was shown is a boxed cake with premade icing but continues to insist it is "fine."
"As a professional baker, why did they even send you this photo lmao please cancel this person and find someone better!" one person commented.
"This looks exactly like something I would make, and I don't bake," another said.
