Wedding guest helps herself to cake before staff can serve it
A wedding guest has helped herself to a slice of cake, not realising she was meant to wait for staff to formally slice it and serve it.
The guest, Hailey, who shares videos on TikTok on her account, @mediocrehailey, revealed herself to be the cake-cutting, wedding-etiquette-breaching culprit obtaining the footage following the reception.
In the video we see Hailey dressed to the nines, approaching the wedding cake and confidently cutting herself a slice, dancing along to the music as she does so and licking her fingers, making no effort to hide what she was doing.
She is then approached by another guest who must have explained what she had just done.

She posted the video along with the description: "My apologies to the bride & groom."
In the video she has added the caption: "Me! A guest at my friend's wedding!" She also added the caption: "Ignoring the brownie table & confidentially cutting myself a slice of HER WEDDING CAKE thinking uh-oh! They forgot to serve it to everyone else!"

Hailey apologised to the couple in the captions of the video she later posted on TikTok. TikTok
She added: "I know better now. I hate myself!"
The bride was quick to comment on her video, writing: "…as the bride whose cake this is - SHE IS FORMALLY FORGIVEN AND HAS LEARNED HER LESSON IN WEDDING ETIQUETTE."
Although many of the 3.8 million viewers seemed to take it harder than the bride.
"You couldn't pry this information out of me if I did this to someone at their wedding," one wrote.

"You have no idea how angry this is making me," another commented.
"Omg so I see that the bride commented forgiving you but I still need to go through my own emotional process with this one," added another.
"The way we would no longer be on speaking terms," one person added.
"This cannot be real omg," another said.
One person observed: "I love that someone filmed you instead of stopping you."
"I would be absolutely mortified," another said.
"As a wedding planner I would have swopped in and stopped you so fast."
"Sorry but this is hilarious," another said.
