Jill Biden steps out to cast her vote in the last thing anyone expected her to wear

It's election day! People in the US have been at the polls, casting their votes for either Vice President Kamala Harris, former president Donald Trump, or a smaller third party.

We've seen photos roll in from celebrities casting their vote – Selena Gomez sent hers in via postal ballot, Anne Hathaway headed into the polls to defend reproductive freedoms, and Beyoncé has been campaigning down to the last second.

None of it has come as a shock. Most stars have voted the way we expected them to, with the most shocking probably being former Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger throwing his vote behind the Democrats.

However, there is one notable figure who has thrown the internet off today. And that figure would be none other than First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden.

Jill Biden is the wife of current Democratic President, Joe Biden.

In case you're not aware, an important thing to note here is that the Democratic party's colour is blue, while the Republican party's is red.

Given that information, you're probably thinking that of course, Jill Biden, the wife of the current Democratic President and First Lady of the United States, would have worn blue to the polls to cast her vote.

You're probably thinking there's absolutely no way she stepped out in a suit the exact shade of red used by the Republican party.

Alas, that is exactly what Jill did.

The First Lady was snapped out at the polls wearing a bright red pantsuit over a white t-shirt.

The internet has erupted with conspiracy theories. Some are outraged by the move, while some are speculating Jill and Joe are bitter over the push earlier this year for him to step down as the 2024 Democratic candidate.

Honestly, though, it was probably just a silly little mistake. Or maybe Jill wanted to have a bit of fun and play a prank on the internet.

Either way, she and Joe publicly put their endorsement behind Harris months ago, so we're sure that despite her red look, Jill still cast her vote blue.
