The View co-host talks about 'false positive' COVID test that saw her abruptly pulled from set
The View's Ana Navarro-Cárdenas has spoken about the dramatic moment she and co-host Sunny Hostin were pulled off set during a live show just minutes before an interview with US Vice-President Kamala Harris.
It was during the show's 'Hot Topics' segment that Navarro-Cárdenas and Hostin were informed via their earpieces that they had received positive COVID-19 tests.

As they both got up from their seats and walked off set, it was left to moderator Joy Behar and co-host Sara Haines to host the remainder of the show themselves. It made for awkward viewing as the pair tried to fill time during the unscheduled absences by taking questions from audience members.
Of the incident, Navarro-Cárdenas told CNN's Anderson Cooper the decision was made to pull them from set as precaution.

"We were very excited to have the vice-president come on The View, and then all of a sudden it turned into an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. It was just surreal," she said.

Navarro-Cárdenas said she has since learned her PCR and antigen tests were false positive.
Following the incident Navarro-Cárdenas tweeted: "Feeling good and hoping it was just an inopportune, very public false positive.
"Please get vaccinated and stay safe folks, so we can beat this damn thing, once and for all."

Cooper seemed incredulous as he watched footage of the co-hosts leaving set but Navarro-Cárdenas was quick to defend their actions and the precautions that are taken on set.
The View was criticised for the dramatic moment, with Fox News' Joe Concha calling it a "train wreck", using the same phrase to describe the show's interview with Harris.
Some conspiracy theorists suggested Navarro-Cárdenas and her co-host were deliberately pulled from The View desk so Harris could avoid "tough questions".

"Ana. Who tampered with your test so that Kamala wouldn't have to take a tough question?" one tweeted. "Blow the lid off this whole thing. I beg."
Another said, "I feel so sorry for what happened. I knew how excited all of you were to interview Kamala. Ana, you are such a great addition to The View. I wish we could move Miami closer to NY."
