This test reveals your personality type – are you a head, heart or gut thinker?
There are plenty of personality tests out there, but none quite as straightforward as The Enneagram Test.
Based on nine distinct personality types, The Enneagram, which refers to the intricate circle and hexagonal shape below, describes not only the most prominent aspects of a personality but how they interrelate.
Because, of course, your personality is not as simple as being an introvert or an extrovert.

The nine different personalities the Enneagram identifies are:
- Peacemaker
- Reformer
- Helper
- Achiever
- Individualist
- Investigator
- Loyalist
- Enthusiast
- Challenger
The test promises to help people understand themselves and those around them, and has become popular with spiritualists and business leaders.
The theory is based on the beliefs and teachings of Bolivian psycho-spiritual teacher Oscar Ichazo and Chilean psychiatrist Claudio Naranjo, who claim all people have a dominant personality type, which is then molded by the experiences in their life, and the environments they live in.
Though the test may reveal a few overlapping traits to your personality, it forefronts the idea there is always one main quality that resonates with you the most.

Interestingly, the nine personality types can be broken down even further into "head", "heart" and "gut" triads.
The heart triad
If you think with your heart, personalities 2, 3 and 4 are probably most applicable to you. These traits are the Reformer, Helper and Achiever, and usually apply to those who use their feelings to make decisions.
These people find it most difficult to tackle emotions of shame.
The head triad
If you think with your head, personalities 5, 6, and 7 are your best friend. These traits are the Individualist, Investigator and Loyalist, and characteristically apply to people who use their thoughts to make decisions.
These people often find it quite difficult to deal with emotions of fear.

The gut triad
If you think with your gut, personalities 8, 9 and 1 are most similar to you. These traits are the Enthusiast, Challenger and Peacemaker and generally apply to people who rely on their instincts to make decisions.
These personality types usually find anger the hardest emotion to handle.
Understanding the significance behind these different triads can help test-takers make sense of why they react a certain way in some situations, and the ways they approach decision making.
