Swedish Princess weeps over Stockholm terror attack
Sweden’s royal heir Crown Princess Victoria wept and called for national unity during an unannounced visit to the site of Stockholm’s recent terror attack.
Accompanied by husband Prince Carl Philip, the princess laid flowers at the site where four people died after a man rammed a stolen truck into the side of a high-end department store.
The 39-year-old princess wiped away tears as she told local media that Sweden must remain united. "We need to find strength one way or another", she said.
"Society has been a tremendous force. We are opposed to this and we want to resist this . . . we are united."
She added: "Swedish society is based on huge trust, solidarity and cohesion. We are going to come out of this stronger in some way".
The Mayor of Stockholm Isabella Lövin, Education Minister Gustav Fridolin, and other prominent Swedish figures have also visited the site to lay flowers and pay their respects to the victims.
