Woman's 'stripper skeleton' Halloween display deemed inappropriate by homeowners

A woman's stripper themed Halloween display has been called into question ahead of the spooky season, with the local homeowners association condemning the scantily-clad decorative feature.

Texan local, Angela Nava, decorated her front yard with a series of skeletons in various dance positions on poles, for a tongue-in-cheek take on a 'skeletal strip club'.

The resident of Richmond claimed her homeowners association requested she remove her unique Halloween display, which also comprises skeletal clientele, fluorescent wigs and seated lap-dancing skeletons.

The push comes on the grounds that the display is "inappropriate" for a family-friendly neighbourhood.

In an effort to avoid 'stripping' the fun out of her display, Nava hit back at the request, claiming it was her "way of being creative and having an outlet" to Fox 8.

"There's no harm. I'm not hurting anyone. Just take it easy. It's only Halloween," she said.

Nava has been regularly changing the display on her front yard, which she dubs the "Candy Shop".

In a post to Facebook, Nava wrote "Well this just happened at the Ivey house...Happy Halloween Y'all!!!!" alongside images and videos of the skeletons operating their strip club.

The display has grown since she initially erected it on October 3rd, adding skeleton security guards and boney bar tending staff to the grounds.

In one of her posts, a skeleton possibly named Vanessa is carting a plate of drinks and waving to attendees of the front yard club.

Despite drawing praise from her local community and social media users, Nava received a letter demanding the display be taken down within 30 days.

Surprised, Nava told the Houston Chronicle "I have neighbours who drive by at 8 p.m. to see what the dancers are doing."

She has no plans to remove the decorations prior to Halloween - and given the letter requires her to take them down within a few weeks, Nava doesn't have to.

"I find myself waiting for the end of my work day just to see what's happening at the candy bar!" shared one Facebook user.

"It's Halloween, tell HOA to get the stick out of there tales. They need to come have a drink at the club," wrote another.

While neighbours quickly shared their suggestions for Nava's display.

"Need an angry wife coming to get her man next."
