Social media star's advice for 'bagging' rich men and athletes

TikTok videos cover everything from popular dances circulating the Internet, to clever ways you can add storage to your home.

But one woman is leveraging the platform to provide dating advice.

Her topic of choice? How to bag a rich man.

New York City dating guru Tiffany Baira claims meeting a prospective partner isn't something she does for fun — she considers it her "favourite hobby".

Baira opened up about her active love life to The New York Post, likening herself to Samantha Jones from Sex and The City, a character synonymous with a fabulous, promiscuous, New York sex life.

"I've woken up to a lot of sweaty strangers," the 23-year-old social media star explained.

So when New York was thrust into lockdown, Baira began sharing her tips and advice for finding love - be it forever or fleeting.

"I started with a dating tour guide of Manhattan … my first video was about the best places to meet rich eligible bachelors in New York's downtown scene," she explained.

The video, that has racked up 50,000 views, lists specific bars and restaurants Baira claims attracts a high-profile list of clientele.

In the video, she points out the Beekman Hotel, urging users to take a "little notebook" and pretend to be "studying" while at the venue.

This, she claims, will make people "want to talk to you and buy you a dirty vodka martini."

She also lists several brunch spots on the exclusive Lower East side of the city, known for attracting "deep-pocketed singles".

Baira's collection of clips also includes guides like: "Where to Meet NYC's Most Eligible Bachelors" with specific editions, such as the: "Musician Edition," "Wall Street Edition" and "Fashion Edition." 

Her video "Best Place in NYC if You're Looking for a One Night Stand" was watched over 450,000 times.

While Baira intended to share dating advice in her candid, tongue-in-cheek videos, she admits the reaction to her posts have revealed how nostalgic people are for going out, during the pandemic.

"It was a way for all of us to come together virtually," she explained.

"In making these videos, I felt like I had a small piece of my old self back."

Baira, who now has over 83,000 followers for her dating advice videos, admits she now spends a lot of her day offering personal advice to social media users looking for a tip.

"I've seen the underbelly of dating, the toxicity and sadness that can be in the city," she said. 

"Now, I can be that girl that's lived all those bad decisions so you don't have to."
