The young man's mum told us this was just two examples of many.

If those initial messages weren't enough, then she received this:

Still think cyber bullying and mental health aren't big issues?

Tell that to the families and friends of the eight young Australians who take their own lives by suicide each and every week.

And these are children who are receiving these messages. Fragile, sensitive, vulnerable teenagers who already feel unsure and worthless.

The terrifying thing is that not all children share such messages with their parents.

Most suffer in silence.

NOW can we do something about cyber bullying? Something real? Aside from talking about it all?

Eight young Australians die from suicide each and every week, the majority of which are young men. That's according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2016 figures.

That makes death by suicide the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15-44.

1. Genetics;

2. Temperament;

3. Triggers...such as cyber bullying.

We can't do anything about genetics and temperament, but we can do something about cyber bullying.
