Small detail everyone is talking about in PM's family photo

Scott Morrison is Australia's 30th Prime Minister, following his surprise election win earlier this month.

So, it seemed only normal after the PM and his cabinet were sworn in at Government House in Canberra on Wednesday that, like any of us would at a milestone event, the 51-year-old posed for a family photo.

Standing alongside wife Jenny Morrison, their two daughters Abbey and Lily, as well as his mother Marion, it was the picture of an average Aussie family.

While they have all the privilege that comes with being the First Family, Jenny Morrison told 9Honey earlier this year, she likes to "keep things as normal as possible" for the girls at Kirribilli House and still does the school run every morning all the way to their old school in the Shire.

And in-keeping with their down-to-earth style, the family photo appeared to be absent of any designer labels and the girls were dressed in simple, age-appropriate clothes.

Although, it didn't prevent a wardrobe malfunction of sorts.

Older daughter Abbey appeared to have a broken shoe -- or blisters from new shoes -- with the 11-year-old's foot just gently resting in the black ballet slippers for the shot (we've all been there!).

Meanwhile Mr Morrison looked like every busy dad with trousers a tad too long for him, forgoing the perfectly tailored suits that his European counterparts are known for.

Mrs Morrison also told 9Honey of her husband, he's a strong man but there's also a softer side to him that not everyone sees.
