Sarah Ferguson shares tribute post for late Queen's birthday

Sarah Ferguson has shared a tribute post marking what would have been the late Queen Elizabeth's 98th birthday.

The Duchess of York posted a photo of the queen along with the caption: "Today we are remembering Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 97th birthday.

"Thank you for all that you have taught us, for being a steadfast leader and dear friend. You are sorely missed."

The duchess shared a photo of the late queen standing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the post.

A royal follower quickly corrected the royal on the former monarch's age.

"She would have been 98. My Dad was born same year, 1926," they commented.

Queen Elizabeth died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96.

The couple divorced a decade later in 1996, however remained friends, both residing at the Royal Lodge.

The Duchess of York has been publicly welcomed back into the royal fold, attending key events with the family, including celebrating Christmas at Sandringham.
