Sarah Ferguson stripped of Freedom of the City of York title in another blow
Sarah Ferguson has been stripped of an honorary Freedom of the City of York title, in the latest blow to the former Duchess of York.
Councillors from the City of York voted to remove the title after it was given to her as a wedding gift alongside then-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The pair were given the honour a year after their wedding.
It comes after the former Duke and Duchess of York are mentioned throughout the Epstein files.

Being named among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has vigorously denied any wrongdoing.
Andrew had his honour removed in 2022.
"This was the right decision to take to maintain the integrity and standing of this important York honour," The City of York council's Labour leader Claire Douglas said in part.

Ferguson was stripped of her title as the Duchess of York in October.
The King previously, formally removed the title Duke of York from his brother and he is officially no longer a prince, now going by the name Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Royal watchers are speculating on Ferguson's whereabouts as she has not been seen in public of late following Andrew's arrest in February on his birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Just days ago, she made headlines when she was forced to deny claims she was planning to clone the late Queen's corgis and sell them on TV.
A report in The Mail on Sunday alleged Ferguson, 66, was "involved in talks" in 2023 to clone and sell the dogs "to other dog lovers around the world," with Ferguson meeting executives from Halcyon Studios and other companies in the US.
"Ms Ferguson regularly receives varied TV offers and proposals – often for reality shows which she always declines," Ferguson's representative said in a statement to People.

"To be absolutely clear, she declined the proposal regarding a reality TV show involving the late Queen's corgis.
"She received the proposal following some initial conversations with Halcyon media to discuss a potential program on dogs generally.
"But conversations ended following her declining the opportunity suggested."
Ferguson previously took charge of caring for the Queen's corgis, Sandy and Muick, alongside her ex following the monarch's death in September 2022.
Another idea for a separate show was Fergie being a "champion for the corgis," it has been claimed, but the exact production company behind that is unclear.
A separate statement to The Daily Mail read in part: "If she had briefly seemed enthusiastic, that is just who Sarah is. Sarah never had any intention of monetising the corgis.
"She had been looking at doing a TV show about dogs for many years, long before she had the corgis and long before she was introduced to Halcyon Studios. She owns other types of dogs also. Any resulting show would never have been about the corgis alone.''
