Princess Eugenie's sweet tribute for Sarah Ferguson's birthday as Duchess sends defiant message: 'Still redheaded and not out'

Princess Eugenie has paid tribute to her "completely unique" mother, Sarah Ferguson on her birthday.

Taking to social media on Thursday, the royal mum-to-be told followers that no one picture could capture Fergie's spirit, so shared a gallery of images instead.

"Happy Birthday to my dear mumsy... ⁣⁣You are one of a kind," the 30-year-old wrote in the caption.

"There were too many pictures to choose from that show how completely unique you are."

The nine photos uploaded are a mix of recent shots and flashbacks — including a cute one with a young Princess Beatrice as well.

The Duchess of York, 61, also took to social media, thanking followers for their well-wishes.

"I just wanted to say a quick 'thank you so much' for all my wonderful birthday messages," she said.

The Duchess added defiantly: "61, still redheaded and not out!"

In the year ahead, Fergie will become a grandmother for the first time, after Princess Eugenie revealed she and husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their first child in early 2021.

"I am so excited by the news that Eugenie and Jack are expecting their first child," Fergie said of the announcement last month.
