Why Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie broke Royal protocol

Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson has revealed in a social media post she and daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have broken Royal protocol recently.

The trio have signed an artwork by Teddy M, even though autographs by members of the Royal Family typically a "no,no".

But it was all done for a good cause.

"Thank you Teddy M for working on this amazing painting for @childrenincrisis and congratulations on creating one of @teddysphotos art guitars," the Duchess of York wrote alongside an image of the artwork posted to Instagram earlier this week.

However the original 'Royal Love' painting was actually created in 2016, with the artist telling GQ Magazine at the time: "We painted outdoors on the lawn, kneeling over the artwork and it was such a relaxed experience.

"When you look at the painting, you will see three distinct forms of handwriting. Beatrice on the bottom left, Eugenie bottom right and the Duchess across the top."

Adding: "And the name of the painting, 'Royal Love' seemed obvious to me and the Duchess quickly approved."

In the end, the painting was auctioned at the Masterpiece Fair that year, selling for £15,000 (AU$27,000), with all the money going to the charity, Children in Crisis.

Ed Sheeran has teamed up with Teddy M for some fundraising efforts in the past, with his art guitars raising thousands of dollars for a number of charities - one of which was East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices in his home town of Suffolk, which the Duchess of Cambridge is a patron of. 

It's understood his latest art guitar from Ed's Divide tour will raise money again for Children in Crisis.
