Sarah Ferguson has faced another hit, with news the release of her new children's book has been cancelled.

Flora And Fern: Kindness Along The Way was originally pushed back after the recent drama surrounding the former Duchess of York, before quietly being dropped altogether.

Now, publishing sources say the books will never see the light of day after "being sent to the recycling centre", according to Daily Mail.

Publishing sources say Sarah Ferguson's next children's book has been "sent to the recycling centre" to be "pulped" Getty

"It's not been delayed, it's being pulped," the source told the publication.

"It's an acknowledgement of the inevitable. No one is going to want to buy it."

Flora and Fern: Kindness Along the Way follows the story of two rabbits after one gets "lost in the big city" and learns about "kindness and community" along their adventures.

The 66-year-old author, who has dozens of children's books under her belt, including the popular series Budgie the Little Helicopter, Little Red and Helping Hands, also had a raft of meet and greets also cancelled.

Bookshops have been forced to refund tickets, labelling the saga a "total mess", according to Telegraph UK.

Fergie, as the royal divorcee is also known, had the book initially delayed from an October release to November 20 after a leaked Epstein email showed her apologising for slamming the convicted sex offender in the press, calling him a "supreme friend".

As a result of the scandal, she was dropped by several of her chairites as patron.

Then, when her ex-husband Prince Andrew was caught out in a lie on his association with Epstein and when it ended in another email leak, the reaction snowballed and Andrew lost his titles, including Duke of York and prince.

He was also formally given notice to leave Royal Lodge, his home of more than 20 years, where his ex-wife still lives with him.

While Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will move into a new private royal home on the Sandringham Estate in the new year, Fergie will be forced to make her own arrangements.

It still remains to be seen what formally happens to her existing book deals in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
