Prince Harry becomes godfather at Zara Tindall's daughter's christening

Prince Harry has become godfather to his second cousin, just weeks before the birth of his own child.

The Duke of Sussex, 34, was seen arriving at the christening of Lena Tindall with his wife, Meghan, who is due to give birth to the couple's first child in late April.

Meghan, 37, was wearing a vintage Dior double-breasted coat, fastened with large buttons, and a navy blue beret.

It was a surprisingly low-key event despite the presence of the Queen, who was pictured entering St Nicholas Church in Cherington, Gloucestershire, carrying an umbrella.

She was holding a booklet proclaiming The christening of Lena Elizabeth Tindall.

The bub, nine months, is the second child for Zara and Mike Tindall. Mike was seen carrying Lena, who was wearing an ivory gown, soon after the service ended.

The event was held in the same church where Lena's sister Mia was christened.

Her Majesty’s attendance was a surprise, though, considering she was absent from the baptism of Prince Louis last July due to a previous engagement.

However, there was no sign of her husband, Prince Philip, or the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate and William were busy with St Patrick's Day commitments at the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.

Zara's parents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, were also in attendance.

One parishioner said there were "between seven and 10 police cars discreetly parked in a farmyard on the edge of the village".

Parish councillor Kate Gegg told the Daily Mail she had attended morning service at the church but had no idea the royals were about to arrive.

"The vicar didn’t say anything about it," she said.
