Experts brand Prince Harry interview as 'gross insult' to royal family after claims he is 'protecting' Queen
Royal experts have branded Prince Harry's new tell-all interview an "insult" to the royal family after his controversial statement about protecting the Queen.
The Duke of Sussex sat down with NBC's Hoda Kotb after his secret palace meeting with Her Majesty and claimed he was still ensuring his grandmother was "protected and has the right people around her" from his home in the US.
Harry's remarks about the Queen appear to have left a sour taste in the mouths of royal commentators, some claiming the duke disrespected the rest of the royal family who have stayed by the monarch's side.

"His comment on US TV is a gross insult to all the royal family, the royal doctors and all the aides around HM. His arrogance knows no bounds," royal biographer Angela Levin, who penned Harry: Conversations with the Prince, said.
Writing for The Sun, Levin also claimed Harry is "blinded by his own self-interest" and doesn't realise the toll his comments take on Prince Charles and Prince William.
"While Prince William, Charles and their respective partners have been working tirelessly to ensure Her Majesty is looked after, Harry hasn't bothered to visit the UK for a whole year," she wrote.
Royal editor Robert Jobson slammed Harry's "odd" remark about keeping the Queen safe in a furious message on Twitter.

He said Harry would do well to substantiate his claims with proof of how he is protecting the monarch from across the Atlantic.
"Such an odd statement by Harry that he is making sure the Queen is 'protected'," Jobson wrote.
"I hope it is not left hanging, and the obvious follow up questions of 'why, how and from who?' are asked. I hope US interview it is not another Oprah where brash statements by H are unchallenged."
Harry's comments about the Queen's welfare were also challenged by No. 10 Downing Street, which claimed in a statement to British press the "PM was confident about her current welfare arrangements".

The Duke of Sussex spoke about his brief palace meeting with the Queen before he and wife Meghan Markle jetted off to the Netherlands for the 2022 Invictus Games.
"Being with her it was great, it was just so nice to see her, she's on great form," he told NBC's TODAY.
'She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure that she's protected and got the right people around her. Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her."
Harry also met with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, during his stopover in the UK, however is yet to publicly speak about their meeting.
