Royal Ascot is the most glamorous event on the racing calendar and it remains a firm favourite among the British royal family and the elite.

Royal Ascot was one of Queen Elizabeth II's most loved fixtures on the calendar and she had more than 20 winners during her 70-year reign.

King Charles III has continued his late mother's affiliation with the event, which runs five days, and lead the royal family as the festival got underway for another year.

Continue through to see some of the highlights.

Aussie model and journalist Kate Waterhouse was also spotted on the Ascot's fifth day, with the star choosing a bold silhouette.

She paired a sleek white dress with a structured cover-up, matching it with a white headband and accessories.

Waterhouse comes from a family of horse racers, with her mother being horse trainer Gai Waterhouse and her father being bookmaker Robbie Waterhouse. Her grandfather was Aussie racing legend Tommy "TJ" Smith.
