The annual gala, which was held at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg, is a celebration for the Danish government, the Royal Court and anyone associated with the royal family.
It was the second time Queen Mary and her husband, King Frederik X, hosted the event since the abdication in 2024 of Frederik's mother, Queen Margrethe II, who held the event for 52 years.
Queen Margrethe was in attendance wearing a red gown paired with a fur coat.

Other royal guests included Crown Prince Christian, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, and Princess Benedikte.
Following the change of throne in January 2024, the Royal House has made slight adjustments to the program, mainly to increase the number of people invited to celebrate.

Five separate Galas will be held in the first week of the new year, including the one that has already taken place at Christian VII's Palace.
The second party will be held on January 5 for the judges of the Supreme Court, the Royal Life Guards and the Guard Hussar Regiment's Officer Corps at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg at 9:30am.
For the first time, a New Year's reception for Danish mayors and regional council chairmen will be held in Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg at 10am.

On Tuesday, January 6, a New Year's party will be held for officers from the Armed Forces and the Emergency Management Agency, the public sector of Denmark and selected groups with noble and honorary titles and those connected with King Frederik and Queen Mary's royal patronages.
