Queen Elizabeth has led the British Royal Family's birthday tributes to Archie — the monarch and Duke of Edinburgh's eighth great-grandchild.

Her Majesty shared more of a "throwback Thursday" photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle presenting their son to the world days after his birth in May 2019.

"Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today," the caption said, with a red balloon emoji.

Prince Charles also shared a sweet photo taken at his youngest grandson's christening in July 2019.

"Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today," the photo caption read, followed by a cake emoji.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's social media pages also shared a photo from Archie's christening, which was a family affair in a private chapel at Windsor Castle.

The couple's message included both the balloon and cake emojis for the two-year-old.

The two-year-old was born just 13 days shy of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first wedding anniversary, making it an extra special celebration.

The couple wed at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

They announced their engagement in November 2017, after meeting on a blind date in July 2016.
