Queen Elizabeth commemorates 75th anniversary of D-Day alongside Donald Trump

Queen Elizabeth has attended commemorations for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day (the Normandy landings of WWII) at a National Commemorative Event in Portsmouth.

The monarch was surrounded by world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and wife Melania, who are on a State Visit to the UK.

However, as Her Majesty took her spot alongside Prince Charles, it was a fashion accessory that got people's attention.

The Queen, 93, pulled out a pair of sunglasses. Yes, sunglasses.

The Royal is not often seen wearing shades and people took to the internet to comment on it.

"I LOVE Queenie's sunglasses," one user wrote on Twitter.

"The queen wearing sunglasses is borderline hilarious," another tweeted.

While some online asked if it was the weather or if it was throwing "shade" to the US President beside her.

"Dear citizens of USA, when can we send Donald home? We’ve had enough already. Oh boy, who thought letting him read at our D-Day commemoration was a good idea? Jesus, please take him away. Even the Queen has put sunglasses on, so she doesn’t have to look at him," one person wrote.

Although that doesn't seem to be the case, with The Queen and Donald Trump seen sharing a laugh during the event.

Following the event, the Royals and US President and First Lady will meet with D-Day veterans.

Before the official proceedings began, The Queen and Prince of Wales were introduced to Heads of State, Heads of Government and Representatives of Leaders of the Allied Nations by UK Prime Minister Theresa May.

They also posed for a historic group photo together to mark the occasion.
