Prince Harry's solo trip to see the Queen ahead of her death
Prince Harry travelled solo to see the Queen in Balmoral following news of her ailing health on Thursday.
However, the 96-year-old died at her Scottish home as her grandson was en route, arriving there just before 5am AEST, approximately 90 minutes after the news of her passing was announced.
While the couple's spokesperson initially confirmed both "the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be traveling to Scotland", Harry went alone in the end.

Similarly, Prince William flew to Scotland whilst the Duchess of Cambridge remained in Windsor, with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who attended their first day at their new school.
Family members made their way to Scotland after doctors became "concerned for Her Majesty's health" earlier on Thursday (Thursday night AEST).

Prince Harry travelled to Scotland separately to his brother, who landed at Aberdeen Airport with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.
It's not known the reason behind the Duke's separate travel arrangements - be it due to a prior commitment or if it might have been security related.
The Sussexes, who now live in the US, were already in the UK for the WellChild Awards taking place Thursday evening (Friday morning AEST).

It's understood neither Harry nor Meghan will be attending the ceremony now in light of Her Majesty's health.
Harry and Meghan arrived back in the UK earlier this week, staying at their former home in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage.
The couple had a number of engagements planned during their stay however this will all change in the wake of the Queen's death.
On Monday, Meghan spoke at the One Young World summit in Manchester before the couple headed to Germany on Tuesday for an Invictus Games countdown event.

The trip back to the UK is their first since a flying visit for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in early June.
During the visit for the four-day weekend of festivities, the couple only made one public appearance - at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Catherdral.
However, they did privately attend Trooping of the Colour, which is the Queen's birthday parade.
For that visit, the couple's two children Archie and Lilibet joined the couple. It's not known if they've joined their parents on this occasion.
