Queen Camilla reveals she once worked as a ball girl during visit to Wimbledon

Queen Camilla has visited Wimbledon for the first time this year and revealed she once was a ball girl.

Her Majesty watched the day's play from the Royal Box, accompanied by her younger sister Annabel Elliot for the quarter finals.

Mike and Zara Tindall were also at the Championships on Wednesday, seated a few rows behind the Queen (see the gallery below).

Monaco's Prince Albert II was there too, without his wife Princess Charlene.

Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips and his girlfriend Lindsay Wallace also had seats inside the prestigious box on Centre Court on day 10 of the tournament.

Before taking her seat Queen Camilla, 75, was introduced to to ball boy, Sean, 16, and two ball girls, Larissa, 15, and Cassie, 16.

Asking about whether they enjoyed their role, the Queen said: "You have to be very agile. I remember doing it one hundred years ago at Queen's [Club]. It is quite difficult."

The Queen was then introduced to former British number one Johanna Konta, detection dog handler Mark Mills and his search dog, Flo – and made time to pat the dog before moving to her seat.

Queen Camilla's visit to Wimbledon comes just over a week after the Princess of Wales attended the tournament on Tuesday alongside Roger Federer.

Catherine is expected to return to Centre Court later this week for the women's and men's singles finals.

Last year, Prince William and Kate brought Prince George to the men's finals match in what was the young royal's first visit to the Championships.

Much like Kate, Queen Camilla is a big fan of tennis.

She is a regular fixture at Wimbledon and often attends with her sister, Annabel.

During a visit in 2013, the then-Duchess of Cornwall said she enjoyed the sport but feared she was "too old" to play.

She was asked by former world number one John McEnroe if she played and said: "Oh, very badly … I would love to start again but maybe I'm too old".
