Princess Mary's daughter Princess Isabella marks 13th birthday with new photo taken by mum

Princess Isabella of Denmark looks all grown up in a new image released to celebrate her 13th birthday on Tuesday.

The eldest daughter of Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary is seen looking straight into the camera lens in the photo taken by her Australian-born mum.

The Danish Royal Family also shared a range of images of the young royal over the years, also taken by Princess Mary, as they mark the beginning of her teenage years.

"It is Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella's 13th birthday, and for today's occasion it is a pleasure for the Crown Prince couple to share a new image of the Princess," they said in a social media post.

"In addition, the Crown Prince couple marks that Princess Isabella is now a teenager by publishing four private photos from Her Royal Highness's life.⁣ "

The sweet images include one of the young royal as a baby all bundled up and in a baby carrier and another with her grandmother, Queen Margrethe.

Princess Isabella's birthday isn't the only one to be dampened by the current coronavirus pandemic.

The Danish Royal celebrates her birthday on the same day as Britain's Queen Elizabeth.

While her own grandmother's 80th birthday celebrations just last week had to be cancelled due to the outbreak.

However, the royal family did release a new portrait to mark Queen Margrethe's milestone birthday, which also featured Prince Frederik and Princess Isabella's older brother, Prince Christian, 14.
