Princess Mary 'twins' with French First Lady Brigitte Macron

Princess Mary has met with France's First Lady, Brigitte Macron, during a state visit to Denmark – and it appears the pair have met their style matches.

Denmark’s Crown Princess, 46, and Mrs Macon, 65, both chose fiery red dresses for the occasion.

President Emmanuel Macron, 40, and the First Lady are spending two days in Denmark.

The couple attended a wreath laying ceremony at the monument for fallen soldiers at the Citadel in Copenhagen.

Later, the Australian born Crown Princess hosted a luncheon at the Amalienborg Palace alongside Mrs Macron.

The two women also visited a design school, where they learned about the latest trends in sustainable fashion.

Clearly fashion is a passion for both women, who rarely put a foot wrong in the style stakes.

Mary accessorised her red Raquel Diniz dress with a brooch from Danish fine jeweller, Ole Lynggaard, along with python-patterned stilettos.

The First Lady matched the black buttons on her red coat to that of her own high heels.

Their busy day was capped off with a lavish state dinner at the royal palace, where all guests swapped their day clothes for evening dress.

The gala dinner was hosted by Denmark's Queen Margrethe II.

Mary stunned in a black and white one-shoulder gown, and her diamond and ruby tiara.

Mrs Macron wore a floor-length, fitted white dress with silver embellishments down the sides.

The French couple will remain in Denmark for another day, where they are set to have another busy schedule of events.

There's been no rest for Mary and her family, who just returned from a four-day tour of the Faroe Islands.

There, Mary and Prince Frederik introduced their four children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, to the residents of the 18 islands which make up the Faroes.

They Danish royals were a hit with the locals and wore traditional dress to honour their hosts.
