Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have been spotted arriving up at Balmoral.

The 30-year-old royal and her husband travelled up to Scotland to visit Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, or simply granny and grandpa to them, on their summer vacation.

"Princess Beatrice and Eugenie always go up over the summer," Katie Nicholl tells 9Honey, adding that it's "quite likely" their dad, Prince Andrew, will also visit over the break.

"And I think the hope is that some of the grandchildren and even great-grandchildren will be able to go up there and see the Queen because she hasn't seen them since March," she adds.

The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson is indeed keeping the annual tradition alive, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Photos surfaced on Twitter of the couple arriving, with Eugenie holding a large orange box, believed to be from designer brand Hermes.

Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex and their two children Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn have also been spotted on the estate.

Nicholl says the Queen will continue to welcome guests during her time in Scotland but not to the extent Her Majesty usually would given the current situation.

"I don't think you're going to see the same number of guests going because this year will be an opportunity for the Queen to see some of the family that she hasn't seen since just after the lockdown."

While there has been a second wave in parts of Scotland, the royal commentator says the plan is for the 94-year-old monarch and 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh to see out their entire trip, as planned.

"The Palace will obviously be monitoring the situation closely with the Scottish Government. At the moment things seem to be under control and the intention is they will see their holiday out until October, as they always do," Nicholl tells 9Honey.

"They've got some members of staff from Windsor plus a new bubble at Balmoral, who are all following very strict and stringent safety guidelines.

"The Queen is not having to wear a mask we understand, and neither are staff because they've all been tested and they've all been quarantined."

The Queen and Prince Philip made their way up to their summer residence, from Windsor Castle, earlier this month.
