Princess Diana's niece Lady Kitty Spencer 'converting to Judaism' ahead of wedding to Michael Lewis

Two months after announcing her engagement to fashion tycoon Michael Lewis, Lady Kitty Spencer is reported to be converting to her fiancé's faith of Judaism.

According to The Sunday Times, a friend has claimed Princess Diana's niece is "taking religious instruction" as she prepares to wed the chair of the Foschini Group, who at 61, is 32 years her senior.

While it's unknown which of the three branches of Judaism Spencer will commit to, the 29-year-old has been seen attending synagogue with the father-of-three in London.

It's believed Lewis, who was born in South Africa, married his first wife — and the mother of his children — Leola in an Orthodox Jewish ceremony back in 1985, before divorcing later on.

Meanwhile, Spencer's cousin Prince William is a future Supreme Governer of the Church of England.

Spencer and Lewis, who is worth a whopping $155 million, made their relationship official in Cape Town over the festive season in 2019.

"Michael proposed to Kitty before Christmas," one of her friends told the Daily Mail. 

"She's been in Cape Town for the holidays and told her mother and the rest of the family. Michael is loved by all of them. Despite his wealth, he's very humble and low key."

Their romance first snatched headlines back in August, when they were spotted kissing after leaving Club 55 in St Tropez.

Headlines were made once again when it was discovered Lewis is five years older than Spencer's father, Earl Spencer, and his three adult children are older than his royal fiancé.
