Princess Diana's goddaughter has received her first pay check, and her mum is delighted.
Domenica Lawson, who has Down's syndrome, was recently hired at Brighton Cafe in the UK.
Mum Rosa Monckton shared a photo of Domenica, 24, holding her pay check on Twitter.
She included the caption, "Domenica receiving her first pay cheque. I could not be more proud. Thank you."
Rosa was a close friend of Princess Diana before her tragic death in 1997. She is also the founder of the charity, Team Domenica, which campaigns for the rights of young people living with disabilities.
The Sun reports that Domenica took part in the charity's Supported Internship Programme and completed a short work placement at the cafe.
She impressed the bosses so much she was hired to work two shifts each week.
Domenica said at the time, "It feels amazing really and I feel very important to have money. I love working there and the people are lovely."
Domenica's dad is journalist Dominic Lawson. He said the work of the charity Team Domenica has "transformed" is daughter's life and prospects.
"Better still, it has made her happier than she has ever been," he added.
Rosa spoke of her friendship with Princess Diana, saying the royal believed that "everybody needs to be valued and everyone has the potential to give something back".
Not only does Rosa help promote the rights of those with disabilities, she began a legal battle earlier this year to challenge the Mental Capacity Act 2005 which prevents parents making decisions for their children with learning disabilities when they reach the age of 18.
She said of the challenge, "When Domenica was born... no one ever warned us how the state can prevent you from exercising the care you know your child needs.
"Diana, who had more empathy and emotional understanding than anyone I have ever met, got it absolutely right when she said, 'A mother's arms are more comforting than anyone else's."
