Baby Sussex might be born on Princess Charlotte's birthday

It's now May, and Baby Sussex still hasn't arrived.

Initially, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child, there was speculation the baby was due in late April.

Now, it is thought the baby may be born on Princess Charlotte's birthday, on May 2.

Princess Charlotte turns four this Thursday, and bookmakers have slashed the odds Baby Sussex will be born the same day.

Signs the birth is imminent include Meghan's mother Doria Ragland's arrival in London, as well as signs banning drones being flown outside their new home, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor.

Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, have chosen not to share details of the birth with the public. Last month, Buckingham Palace announced that the couple "look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had the opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family".

"The wait to welcome the Royal Baby goes on and with Princess Charlotte's birthday fast approaching, there's every chance Harry and Meghan's first born will share a birthday with their cousin," Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati told Express UK.

Most people are predicting a baby girl for the couple, and despite speculation the couple may choose the name Allegra for their daughter (a name said to be favoured by Princess Diana), the names with the best odds are Elizabeth, Diana, Grace and Victoria, in that order.
