Lady Kitty Spencer mistaken for Princess Charlotte in adorable throwback snap

Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, has shared a beautiful throwback photo of herself as a child and fans quickly noticed the similarities between her and Princess Charlotte.

Lady Kitty posted the photo to her official Instagram account on the occasion of her 29th birthday, on December 28.

It shows her seated at a table surrounded by sweet treats and a paper crown, fit for a princess. Although it's unclear what year the Barbie-themed party took place, Lady Kitty looks no more than five-years-old in the snap.

"Thank you for such beautiful and kind birthday messages today," Lady Kitty wrote, alongside the photo. "I couldn't have asked for a better day surrounded by the people I love.

"Thank you to everybody who made it the most special birthday I can remember (although this Barbie party looked pretty cool too!)."

But her followers immediately commented their surprise at how much she looks like her royal cousin, Princess Charlotte.

"I thought it was Princess Charlotte."

"Kitty = princess Charlotte."

"She resembles princess Charlotte."

Lady Kitty Spencer is the daughter of Princess Diana's younger brother Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, making her a first cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry.

And it's not the first time Lady Kitty has been compared to Charlotte, four.

In November, Kitty shared a childhood photo of herself from 1992 seated on horse. Little Kitty has lighter hair than Charlotte, but very similar facial features. Lady Kitty posted the photo from Australia where she was a guest at the Melbourne Cup.

And in 2018, Lady Kitty shared another photo from the family archives, this time on her first day of school, and Charlotte's resemblance was strikingly clear.

Charlotte has also been compared to the Queen when Her Majesty was a child. When Charlotte attended her first day of school in September, many were quick to point out how much she resembled her great-grandmother.

Royal commentator and author, Rob Jobson, said: "I can really see the resemblance between Princess Charlotte and her great grandmother The Queen in this photo of her first day of school."

While another fan noted: "Princess Charlotte has The Queen's eyes. It's remarkable."

Charlotte's brothers, Prince George, six, and Prince Louis, one, have been compared to their mother's side of the family.

Most recently, Prince Louis was likened to Kate's brother, James Middleton, as a child. He was photographed arriving at Buckingham Palace for Christmas lunch when fans noticed how much the little royal looked like his uncle.
