Fergie treats royal fans to unseen photo from Princess Beatrice's wedding in thank you cards

The proud mother of Princess Beatrice has thanked well-wishes who reached out to congratulate the family after the secret royal wedding.

The thank you cards included a never-before-seen photo of Beatrice and her husband and were sent by Sarah Ferguson.

Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a small private ceremony in Windsor on Friday, July 17.

The couple, who had been dating since 2018, tied the knot in front of a small group of guests including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of York and Princess Eugenie.

Ferguson expressed her appreciation for the "amazingly caring and supportive messages" sent to the couple in the days and weeks after the nuptials.

"It was a glorious day; the sun smiled down on them," the Duchess of York wrote.

"We were all delighted to be able to come together and celebrate their love for one another.

"Beatrice looked stunning and Edo handsome – their love shone through.

"We are so happy to welcome Edo into our family and thank him for his love and devotion to Beatrice."

She then thanked royal fans for "many years of kindness and loyalty", signing the note simply as "Sarah".

It was dated July 17 – the day of the wedding.

The black and white photograph on the thank you card has not been seen until now.

It was posted to Instagram by royal fan Sarah, who called the note "a beautiful reply from the Duchess of York".

Only a handful of photos from the special day have been shared, with the royal family releasing the official portraits.

The groom posted another unseen photo to his Instagram page in the days after the wedding.

Earlier this week, Beatrice shared her own thank you cards choosing to hand write the notes.

Last month, Princess Beatrice spoke about her wedding, describing it as "so much fun".

It was meant to take place on May 29 in London but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Beatrice wore a vintage gown loaned to her by the Queen and altered for the big day, as well as a tiara also from Her Majesty – the same one the Queen wore for her 1947 wedding.
