Prince William ‘turns down multiple requests’ to take part in Princess Diana tribute docos
A raft of new Princess Diana tribute projects are likely to surface ahead of the 30th anniversary of her death next year, but Prince William won’t be part of them.
The Prince of Wales has reportedly rejected multiple proposals to appear in or produce documentary tributes to his late mother, who was killed in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

According to The Sunday Times, the 30th anniversary marks a “difficult situation” for William and he remains “really emotional” about Diana’s death.
The publication claims his refusal to take part in documentary projects is partly to avoid further conflict with his brother Prince Harry.
The Duke of Sussex, who recently moved back to the UK with his family, is reportedly in talks to make a film about Diana for Netflix to mark the anniversary.

It’s believed he has been in discussions with friends and family members of his mother, and “is still considering the most meaningful way to honour her legacy during this important anniversary year,” a source told The Telegraph.
The publication’s royal editor Camilla Tominey says this move could be “problematic” for Prince William.
“There seems to be some kind of contradiction here,” she told Today.
“There’s one brother who want to speak out about his mother’s legacy, and the other brother saying he wishes her memory was laid to rest.”

Tominey says the divide is particularly clear following the release of Charles Spencer’s controversial book Swan Song: My Sister Diana.
In the memoir, the Earl shares his own memories of Princess Diana and the aftermath of her death, including details of his conversations with King Charles – claims that have elicited a rare statement from Buckingham Palace.
William is yet to publicly address the publication of the book, but Tominey speculates he “isn’t particularly happy with his uncle raking over this history”.
“Quite what he makes of Harry planning to do the same remains to be seen.”
