Model Cara Delevingne shares photo of her grandma with 17-year-old Prince Philip
In the days since Prince Philip's death, we've seen countless photos of him taken through the years, from his time in the navy to his many royal appearances.
Now, Cara and Poppy Delevingne has shared a more candid snapshot of the Duke of Edinburgh, one taken long before he was catapulted onto the global stage as the husband of Queen Elizabeth II.

The British sisters, both models and actresses, both shared a photo on Instagram of a 17-year-old Philip sitting on a beach with their grandmother Angela Delevingne.
In her caption, Poppy explained the photo had been taken in Venice in 1938.
"My cousins remember her saying 'That after meeting him, she thought he'd make someone a very good husband one day.' How right she was," she wrote.
The pair are seen sitting on a beach lounge, the teenage Philip dressed casually in sandshoes and what appears to be a polo shirt.
According to Page Six, the photo was taken by Angela's husband Edward not long after their wedding.

The newlyweds had encountered the future Duke of Edinburgh while on holiday in Italy.

It was also a year before Philip met his future wife, Princess Elizabeth, at the Royal Naval College, though it would be several more years before their relationship began.
The couple married in 1947, celebrating their 73rd anniversary in November 2020.
Angela wasn't the only Delevingne to strike up a friendship with a royal (well, in this case a future royal).
Her daughter Pandora, Poppy and Cara's mother, is good friends with Sarah, Duchess of York, the pair having attended school together. Their daughters are friends too.
Cara and Princess Eugenie, in particular, have been close since childhood, and she, Poppy and their sister Chloe all attended the royal's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018 (pictured above).
Cara is also chummy with Prince Harry.
