Prince Harry denies claims of 'physical fight' with Prince Andrew and comments about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex in new book

Prince Harry has denied getting into a tussle with his uncle Prince Andrew over alleged comments he made, including a reported remark about his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan.

In his new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, historian Andrew Lownie claims that a "heated argument" between Harry, 40, and Andrew, 65, broke out over "something Andrew said behind Harry's back," at a family gathering in 2013.

The supposed fight escalated to the point where "punches were thrown", with the Duke of York allegedly being left with a bloody nose, Lownie alleges in his book.

The author said on another occasion Andrew privately questioned Harry's relationship with the former-Suits actress, calling her an "opportunist" and suggesting that the marriage wouldn't last.

The Duke of Sussex has since denied the reports, with a spokesperson telling People, "I can confirm neither of those things are true.

"Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry."

Harry was the first of the British royal family to criticise his uncle for his "shameful scandal" linking him to Jeffrey Epstein and accusing him of "sex crimes".

In his 2023 memoir Spare, Harry complained about he and Meghan's security being taken away while Andrew's was not, despite him being accused of "sex crimes".

Writing in Spare, Harry recalled a conversation with Meghan about their security provided by the royal family.

Harry says it was an "obligation" and an "implicit promise" to protect them but the duchess asked him whether it would ever be removed.

"'Never. Not in this climate of hate. And not after what happened to my mother,'" he told her.

He then reportedly wrote, "Also, not in the wake of my Uncle Andrew. Despite being embroiled in a shameful scandal, accused of sexually assaulting a young girl, no one had even suggested removing his security.

"People have had plenty of reasons to complain about us, sex crimes weren't one of them."

Prince Andrew has always denied all allegations made against him.

Much like Prince Andrew, Harry and Meghan lost their patronages and use of their HRH titles when they stepped back as senior working royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were no longer entitled to the security provided to the royal family when they moved to North America in 2020.
