Prince Harry's next New York visit announced after return from first official US trip with Meghan

The Duke of Sussex may have only just landed back in Los Angeles after his whirlwind trip to New York but his next engagement there has already been announced.

Prince Harry will appear alongside musician Jon Bon Jovi at the inaugural Intrepid Valour Awards being held in Manhattan on November 10 — the day before Remembrance Day, which is Veteran's Day in the US.

Harry — who served in two tours of Afghanistan as a soldier in the British Army — will present five awards to service members, veterans and military families "living with the invisible wounds of war" during the Salute to Freedom gala.

The military gala will be held at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum along the Hudson River, where Bon Jovi will be given a lifetime achievement award.

Prince Harry and Bon Jovi worked together to create a new anthem for the Duke of Sussex's Invictus Games — an Olympics-like sporting event for wounded servicemen and women.

Harry is set to make this trip to New York solo and will not be joined by wife Meghan Markle.

The couple have just returned to their new base in Montecito after a three-day visit to NYC at the end of last week for their headline appearance at New York's Global Citizen event, held in Central Park.

The visit marked their first official joint in-person engagements since leaving their roles as senior working members of the British Royal Family and also coincided with the UN General Assembly.

The couple made a visit to the United Nations headquarters and met with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, who welcomed the Duke and Duchess's commitment and work on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

"The Deputy Secretary-General affirmed support for shared priorities around climate action, women's economic empowerment, youth engagement and mental well-being," the United Nations said in a statement.

Harry and Meghan also visited a school in Harlem during their time in the Big Apple and paid tribute to the fallen at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, days after the 20th anniversary of the Twin Towers attacks.
