The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer speak through unnamed sources, The Telegraph UK reports.

According to the publication, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell communications team will speak to the media on the record, or not at all.

The move comes after it was revealed during the duchess' recent privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) that the couple had instructed their then-media manager Jason Knauf to meet with the authors of biography Finding Freedom to offer their perspective on matters being addressed in the book.

Harry and Meghan had initially denied cooperating with the book, but were forced into a backtrack. During the appeals process by ANL, after the publisher was found to have breached the duchess' privacy by publishing parts of a letter she had sent to her father Thomas Markle Snr, the court heard parts of an email sent by Meghan to Knauf which contained information he then passed onto the the authors.

Part of the memo read: "The Queen offered Windsor which the couple gratefully accepted. They are also very happy to have the space and privacy that Windsor affords. Being able to go for long walks, etc."

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have confirmed they spoke with sources close to the couple for the book.

The duke and duchess have been campaigning against media "misinformation" since their split from the monarchy in 2020, with Harry, 37, working with the Aspen Institute's Commission on Information Disorder to improve reporting standards.

The sharing of information on behalf of celebrities by sources is common practice in media, but it seems Harry and Meghan are keen to do their part to change that.

The couple now operate their Archewell brand from their US home in Montecito, California. Following Harry's work with the Aspen Commission a report on the so-called "misinformation crisis" was shared on their website which included recommendations going forward.

"For the better part of a year, we at the Aspen Commission have met regularly to debate, discuss, and draft solutions to the mis- and disinformation crisis, which is a global humanitarian issue," the duke commented at the time.

"I hope to see the substantive and practical recommendations of our Commission taken up by the tech industry, the media industry, by policymakers, and leaders. This affects not some of us, but all of us."

Harry and Meghan delighted followers ahead of Christmas by releasing a family photo through their foundation.

In it, we saw the couple with their children Archie, two, and Lilibet, seven months.

"This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a 'Mama' and a 'Papa,' and Lili made us a family," the couple said in a statement.
