Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce new details of Africa tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released new details of their upcoming tour of Africa.

The ten day tour will begin on September 23 in Cape Town and finish in Johannesburg on October 2.

"This will be Their Royal Highnesses' first official tour as a family," the statement from the Palace notes, confirming Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be travelling with his parents.

However, since an official welcome at the airport isn't part of the itinerary, we won't get to see little Archie straight away.

The couple are planning to have an engagement where the little one is involved, however it won't be decided till the last minute, one royal insider has told HelloHello magazine.

"The couple hope to include Archie at some point in the programme, but it's difficult to schedule. He's five months old. But they hope to," they said.

Another royal insider claims the tour schedule has been arranged with bath and bedtime in mind for the little one, so mum and dad are on hand.

For the first three days of the tour, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will carry out engagements together.

Then, Prince Harry heads off to Botswana, Angola and Malawi.

While Meghan will stay on in South Africa and undertake some solo engagements.

"The Duchess will be working with organisations to promote women's education, health, entrepreneurship and leadership," the statement says.

One of the most poignant days of the tour will be when Prince Harry visits Angola and see's the mines in Huambo, which his late mother, Princess Diana visited and raised awareness about.

After a visit to Malawi, the Duke then returns to South Africa for the final day of the tour before heading home.
