Harry, Meghan and 'little pumpkin' Archie send Halloween message to fans

Sadly, members of the Royal Family aren't in the habit of sharing photos of their Halloween outfits (if they even dress up for the occasion).

However, we're crossing our fingers that trend will change in future, thanks to the American-born Duchess of Sussex.

On Thursday, Meghan and husband Prince Harry posted a message to their Instagram followers for Halloween, with a mention of little Archie.

"Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween from our family (and our little pumpkin) to yours!" the royal couple wrote, complete with a pumpkin emoji.

Sadly, the caption was not accompanied by a photo of six-month-old Archie in a pumpkin costume, as it current Halloween ritual for parents with newborns.

Instead, Harry and Meghan shared a photo taken during their October 2018 royal tour of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

As the post explains, the Sussexes spent last Halloween at a special effects workshop in New Zealand.

While the royals didn't get in on the costume fun, others at the workshop certainly did, as you can see in the image.

We have a sneaking suspicion the royals will mark Halloween in some way at home in Frogmore Cottage, Windsor.

Back in 2016, days before her relationship with Prince Harry became public knowledge, Meghan shared a photo of herself with a carved pumpkin on her now-defunct Instagram.

"Happy Halloween, friends #Halloween #pumpkin," the Suits actress captioned the shot, depicting her posing with the pumpkin in front of her face.

Wearing a long, chunky-knit grey cardigan, Meghan appears to be standing in a backyard, believed to be that of her former home in Toronto.

Royal sleuths have since determined Harry was the likely photographer, as he reportedly visited Meghan in the Canadian city over that Halloween weekend.

According to various news outlets, the pair even enjoyed a spot of trick-or-treating, concealing their famous faces with masks, in Meghan's neighbourhood.

The Toronto Star reported the couple were also spotted at a Halloween party in the city.

Just quietly, we'd LOVE to know their costumes of choice.
